News Headlines – Thu 12th

Seems conditions got a little bit closer to \’mighty\’ for yesterday\’s day three at BWA Brandon Bay, Ireland. And all fleets are now through at least a double elimination – the masters and women have managed four! Now in yellow at the front of the pro fleet it\’s Ben Proffitt, Canvey Island ripper Aleksy Gayda has galvanised his top spot in the amateurs, Dave White\’s back on top of the masters, and Sarah Bibby leads the women. Full results so far and write-up at, find Whitey\’s pic gallery at … and even better, Simon Crowther\’s pic gallery too!

Onto the world stage, and the PWA Slalom racers are arriving in Korea for the Ulsan World Cup – men\’s and women\’s racing from Jinha Beach will commence this Saturday 14th. More at

Talking of the World Tour, let\’s look back to the last event of PWA Podersdorf, Austria, just one last time (!) Here\’s Jay Haysey of Globalshots\’ take of the event, as won by his newest Globalshots team rider Steven Van Broeckhoven – again, much more at

After a stunning third place in Austria, H-311 Davy Scheffers has posted another sick movie from his training ground of Bonaire – this time \’just\’ the overspill from his previous film. Although it looks top-notch to us – look out world! More from the flying Dutchman at

Deposed from the podium in Podersdorf by Davy, SVB and Kiri Thode you might imagine Jose \’Gollito\’ Estredo is off licking his wounds somewhere. But far from it – he\’s been out to Egypt to train and film for Minds Wide Open, and fancies his chances at the next events in Bonaire and Aruba. Check out this 7-question interview at

Back to the waves now, and the last movie from the AWT Santa Cruz Classic courtesy of second placed Kevin Pritchard of The winners? Expert men – Nathan Mershon. Masters – Brian Caserio. Women – Ingrid Larouche. Oh, and apparently some old dude called Josh Stone won the expression session. More at

And finally, our favourite pictures of the day – maybe the week in fact – are Alex Nikoletopoulos\’ final act from Margaret River in Western Oz, by Marouska Fili on … although whether uber-ripper Alex and uber-blogger Zakel are in fact one in the same human being, we must confess, we don\’t actually know! (We\’ll certainly get a man on it though…)
