Fantastic news from Weymouth\’s Sail for Gold on Saturday where Britain\’s Nick Dempsey has scooped gold at home on 2012 Olympic waters – a sign of things to come, we\’d like to think. Nick came second in the medal race, beating JP Tobin into second and Dorian van Rijsselberge into third overall. Meanwhile in the women\’s, Bryony Shaw rounded off a tough week by winning the medal race ahead of event winner Marina Alabau to wind up in eighth for the regatta. But the world\’s eyes are currently on the Dutch Caribbean island of Bonaire where PWA Freestyle kicked off yesterday with a full single elimination in both men\’s and women\’s fleets. Victorious after round one were Kiri Thode who beat Taty Frans in the men\’s fleet ahead of Steven Van Broeckhoven and Gollito, and in the women\’s Sarah-Quita Offringa took the first final from Laure Treboux. Full report on pwaworldtour.com – and here\’s that women\’s final…

\’Our\’ brave British boys aren\’t doing too bad out in Bonaire as both Max Rowe and Andy \’Bubble\’ Chambers lie in equal ninth heading into the double (action should start around 5pm UK time, and can of course be followed live at pwaworldtour.com). But spare a thought for fellow Brit-pack \’styler Adam Sims who\’s had top stay home for the Caribbean tour … at least it\’s given him a chance to sort out the kit shed though – check it out at k669.blogspot.com

Bubble made a bit of a splash recently with news of his signing to K4 Fins (more on that here) – and this week, liable to make an even bigger splash is the news that Maui legend Mark Angulo has joined Black Project Fins and is already working on their new range … asymmetric multi-fins and all! Which kinda makes Guernsey speedsailor Martyn Ogier a team-mate … no mention of that on his blog, although there is a decent report from his fifth place at the Swedish second round of the Euro Speed Champs, as won by Marcus Richardson, at martynogier68.blogspot.com

Staying European, the IWA site is carrying a report from the Raceboard Europeans in Finland where Slovakia\’s Patrik Pollak cleaned up ahead of Finland\’s Juha Blinnikka and Jon Tornwal (plus Japanese wildcard Kazumasa Sugiura too!) at internationalwindsurfing.com

Let\’s have a couple of wave movies now, eh? First up here\’s Jason Polakow\’s section from Oxbow\’s Watermen Experience including some sick Ho\’okipa footage and \’that\’ hold-down at Jaws…

Here\’s a sneak peek at what\’s to come in Fanatic\’s next instalment of Addicted to Ride – some South African winter action from Victor Fernandez, Marcilio Browne and Klaas Voget ripping up the Cape.

And finally – MOOSE! Natural history photos of the day come from Kevin Pritchard who posted some shots of the wilderness on the way to the Columbia River Gorge for the Pistol River AWT event later this week. Check out the views at blog.pritchardwindsurfing.com
