News Headlines – Thu 16th

So, no wind on Bonaire meant a day off for the PWA Freestyle fleets yesterday at Lac Bay. Fingers crossed there\’s enough to conclude the second double elimination on the last day today – keep up with the very latest, including live streaming video, this afternoon at pwaworldtour.com

Staying with freestyle, Continent Seven are reporting that the European Freestyle Jam Bredene, proposed for 3-6 August, has been cancelled due to a lack of sponsorship. Read the news at continentseven.com – and look forward to the next event in Eilat, Israel, at efpt.net

Lack of funding\’s not stopped our homeland \’stylers back here in the UK as we\’ve just received the call from Adam Sims that the proposed Xpression Weymouth session has the green light for this weekend. Meet in Weymouth Harbour (the town end car park) at 10am on Saturday for an Open Xpression session, to get everyone involved – all levels welcome! Get on it via facebook.com

Unfortunately, as injured British wavesailor Mike Archer has found out, something as serious as ligament damage is bound to stop the fun. But back home after twisting his knee training at Pozo, Mike\’s taken the opportunity to put together this little clip compilation from Hosseger in France, Cape Town in SA, and Pagham back here in the UK. Nice work! More at mikewindsurf.blogspot.com

Staying with waves, across the Pond – and way over onto the west coast in fact – Kevin Pritchard has arrived at the Pistol River Wave Bash to defend his 2010 title in round two of this year\’s American Windsurfing Tour. More from him at blog.pritchardwindsurfing.com, more from his board sponsors at star-board.com, and more from the event that concludes on Sunday 19th at americanwindsurfingtour.com

Right over on the other side of the country another former world champion in the shape of Josh Angulo was the headline guest at the East Coast Windsurfing Festival – and despite light, offshore winds it looks like he still had some fun back on the mainland. Check out daily updates and an \’Angulo-vision\’ movie of proceedings at the venerable peconicpuffin.com

Back in Europe, sail sponsors Point-7 and board sponsors RRD are celebrating another result from their boy Pascal Toseli who came second to hotly tipped youngster Pierre Mortefon in a 110-strong fleet at France\’s Transjai long-distance race. More at insidertrrding.blogspot.com and point-7.com

Talking of Point-7, check out the latest sail released by the all-black Italian brand: the, er, \’striking\’ new S!CK is a dedicated sail range for light and young riders and comes sized 2.4m, 3.1m and 3.8m with a special edition C-100 Super RDM mast developed specifically for riders under 55kg. Check out the product guide at point-7.com

And finally, it\’s always worth looking to George Shillito\’s blog from Polkerris in Cornwall for a little light relief … and this week \’Captain George Sparrow\’ seems to be taking his Team15 Pirates theme a little too literally. We\’re hoping to see some action from him and new coaching colleague Adam Lewis pretty soon too at georgek630.windsurfing.pro
