News Headlines – Wed 21st

Let\’s kick off today with the latest movie from last weekend\’s AWT Pistol River Wave Bash – here\’s the day four expression session, won by Boujmaa Guilloul … who scooped a brand new Chinook carbon boom for his trouble! More at americanwindsurfingtour.com – and in case you\’d barely heard of him either, there\’s some background on the event winner Nathan Mershon and more besides at humancatapult.blogspot.com

It was a stormy old day at PWA Aruba yesterday – the clouds are apparently burning off right now, so fingers firmly crossed for some live action this afternoon at pwaworldtour.com. Meanwhile Bubble\’s posted a few snaps on facebook.com, besides John Carter\’s awesome imagery at pwaworldtour.com … and meanwhile here\’s the irrepressible Kuma Movie\’s first instalment as he meets some of the competitors on a thundery day one.

Let\’s rewind to PWA Bonaire now, and no competition on Aruba allows the crew to update their cyber-profiles while they\’re waiting for the trade winds to return. Hence, for example, we have PWA Bonaire round-ups from =13th Max Rowe at maxrowe.blogspot.com, second placed women Laure Treboux at lauretreboux.com … and check out this movie from Team F2: Andraz Zan, Remko de Zeeuw and  second-placed Steven Van Broeckhoven…

Talking of F2, it\’s their 30th birthday this month don\’t you know… But rather than bake a cake, UK sponsored rider (via importers spot-on-water.co.uk) Mike Archer made this film running through F2\’s 2011 range. More at f2-surf.com – and there\’s still time to score your discount via boards.co.uk

Looking forward now, Pozo on Gran Canaria will soon be grabbing the limelight and is already beginning to buzz with anticipation as Friday sees the start of the holding period for Red Bull Rockets (24-30 June) before the PWA come to town. Check out the 16-man line-up at epicsessions.tv … including local lad Dario Ojeda who\’s already flying high in 40-knots to prepare at darioe211.blogspot.com, and here\’s the latest clip from a fellow \’Rocket\’, Naish ripper Eleazar Alonso…

And finally, yesterday we brought you some familiar names and celebrated the sweet UK conditions we\’ve had just lately – so today we\’ve got to end with this. Another perfect back-loop sequence from our own rocket-man come web-designer extraordinaire is currently inhabiting windsurfbritain.blogspot.com: “Typical James Cox style, straight out, first wave, perfectly landed backloop.” We\’d expect nothing less…
