We kick of this week with news of the Canaries. The Costa Teguise World Cup Freestyle event in Lanzarote finished yesterday. Howling winds were forecast for the last day of the double, so competition was on-hold until midday. The conditions proved perfect to showcase all the big moves, with waves and strong winds in the bay. Gollito took the win in the end with Van Broeckhoven in 2nd place. Hats of to Kiri Thode – having been knocked out in the semis in the single elimination, he steamed through 4 heats to take 3rd. With Kiri and Stephen in joint 1st place, the freestylers now have a bit of a rest until the Fuerteventura event begins on 22nd July and the fight continues. More info on the PWA site.
