News Headlines – Mon 8th

With echoes of Friday\’s headlines, we have to lead today\’s news with confirmation that Maui\’s Graham Ezzy has won the AWT Baja Cactus Cup while Britain\’s Tanya Saleh cleaned up in the women\’s. The remaining men\’s podium places went to the Ho\’okipa crew too, with Keith Teboul securing second and Kevin Pritchard third after five rounds of wavesailing competition. Full results at americanwindsurfingtour.com – and read Tanya Saleh\’s final report at boards.co.uk

Naturally, Tanya Saleh is also blogging her result at tanyak297.blogspot.com, while fellow Brit in Baja Chris \’Muzza\’ Murray is wooping it up at k202windsurfing.blogspot.com. Whilst we\’re playing catch-up, here\’s a few updates from UK riders who\’ve just returned home – Sarah Bibby\’s hurt her foot again at sarahk349.blogspot.com, PWA live commentator extraordinaire Ben Proffitt\’s back home to collect his new Simmer kit after a hectic couple of months away at thewetdream.co.uk, while fellow competitor-come-pundit John Skye and his new bride Nayra are back from an altogether more chilled visit to the Salvage Islands at skyeboy.blogspot.com

On the subject of Brits at home, Nick Dempsey starts today\’s RS:X racing at the Olympic Test Event in Weymouth still in top spot with three days to go, albeit tied on points with Dutch foe Dorian van Rijsselberge. Meanwhile in the women\’s Bryony Shaw has posted a string of healthy results to make fourth, well in touch with third and second and just 10 points adrift of first-placed Marina Alabau. And finally, on Friday we promised you more news of the Siam Park Extreme Jump event that took place on Saturday on Tenerife. We can\’t confirm much yet, except that Alex Mussolini appears to have won it ahead of Iban Hernandez in second and Dany Bruch third – and how do we glean that? Thanks to this movie from Scott McKercher (and double-thanks for the heads-up from Greece\’s finest: zakel.ws). We\’re looking out for more on siampark.net very soon … and there\’s already a pic gallery from Pavel Slanina popped up via facebook.com
