Back in Britain, and RS:X campaigners Nick Dempsey and Bryony Shaw are hitting the mainstream headlines today as they\’re amongst the first British athletes to be confirmed for the 2012 Olympic Games. 11 sailors for Team GB were announced this morning at olympics.org.uk – so now it\’s eyes down for gold in Weymouth next August.

The weekend before that, the UKWA Inlands 5 at Oxford SC at Farmoor attracted 58 entries for a super-windy couple of days of course racing. Honours in the raceboard fleet went to Matt Brown, Chris Guest and James Moon according to ukwindsurfing.com

While this coming weekend the auspicious Penny Way (that\’s the road, named after the former British IMCO Olympic campaigner) in Christchurch, Dorset, hosts the sixth round of the BSA slalom tour.
