So it seems the wind has taken a break today at the Tiree Wave Classic – and in fact yesterday the light cross-offshore breeze only allowed a few heats of masters competition. We\’re down to the last four \’old boys\’ now with Mark Lloyd currently in top spot after the single, Debbie Kennedy seems to have the women\’s well sewn up, Aleksy Gayda came out top of the amateur double, and John Skye\’s leading the pros after his charge through the double on Monday (see his reaction at skyeboy.blogspot.com). With a great forecast for tomorrow, there\’s plenty of talk of a triple elimination though, so it\’s far from over. Check out Dave White\’s day four gallery at boards.co.uk, find more at tireewaveclassic.co.uk and britishwavesailingassociation.com … and here\’s Duncan Coombs with his now traditional monologue on day four!
No confirmed results yet then, but we can bring you a couple from competition further afield. Marco Vinante came second, Gabriele Varrucciu third and Raimondo Gasperini fourth according to star-board.com and severnesails.com
Further north, Weiden\’s Lake Neusiedl hosted 39 competitors for the Austrian Slalom and Formula Championships last weekend. And none was happier than JP / Pryde\’s birthday boy AUT-30 Markus Poeltenstein who walked away with both national titles having won all eight races. More at jp-australia.com
