Well, sorry to say we\’re starting a grey old week in the UK staring down the barrel of another f-f-f-freezing winter according to the Met Office long-range predictions. But let\’s not forget we\’ve had it pretty good so far this autumn – to which end we\’ll start today with a bit of action from just last week. First up, down in deepest Cornwall the 5-Oceans crew were scoring it on both coasts at Meanwhile freestylers James Randall and Jamie Drummond had a hot West Wittering session judging by these movies – check out Jamie\’s trick new website with more on his move to K4 Fins at

After two races on day one, they\’re 2nd, 4th and 9th respectively behind Australia\’s Jessica Crisp in the women\’s fleet, while we have no British competition against Dorian Van Rijsselberge in the men\’s. Much closer to home, Surfer Today are reporting that Hannes Louet-Feisser has taken the Irish Slalom Series 2011 by winning the final stage of the season at Tracht Beach, Kinvara, Co Galway at the end of October. More at and

And finally, in case you were wondering why Nick Dempsey isn\’t in Oz alongside the RS:X women it seems he\’s been over in Alicante, Spain, to see racing get underway at the Volvo Ocean Race 2011-2012 instead. But the highlight of his weekend was meeting Laird Hamilton according to – the legendary waterman marked the start of the global yachting marathon by diving off Puma\’s Mar Mostro as it left harbour, which was “easy to do” according to!
