Let\’s kick off with this cool new idea from the PWA to have a facebook page setup purely to cover news from the ladies amongst us. Solely run by the PWA girls, it should be a hive of information before you know it. Follow this link to facebook and hit the LIKE button to be kept up to speed. In fear of this coming out all wrong; guys are also more than welcome to hit the LIKE button to follow their favourite female riders…
Sticking with the chicks and here is the first production to come out of Jericoacoara, Brazil this year. Starring PWA Wave sailor Eva Oude Ophuis H99 practicing freestyle and of course she couldn\’t resist a few wave moves, including some impressive stalled forwards. More on www.evaoudeophuis.com
Not to break a trend then and Sarah-Quita Offringa was recently nominated for the ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year award. Despite not coming home with the award, she was highly recognised as one of the most successful sailors for 2011, winning both slalom and freestyle PWA World titles. CNN covered the event and interviewed Sarah. Check it out below or on CNN.com
Further news from the girls is a bit sparse at the moment but you might be able to pick them out in this next video. The Tiree Wave Classic celebrated its 25th Anniversary this year and this TV style webisode was put together by the 1080 Media team highlighting the event and interviewing some of the great names from the past Including PWA and BWA Head Judge, Duncan Coombes.
Moving away from the ladies then and Mathias Genkel has been scoring some cold conditions at home in Northern Germany. Here is his first of a series of videos – Wintersurf 1.0. Check out more on Mathias\’ blog (matswindsurfingpage.blogspot.com)
