Welcome to the Wednesday AM update.
Today\’s news starts with Jem Hall\’s Brazil Clinics. Jem has released the dates for his 2012 clinic which will visit the tropical beaches of Icaraizinho and Jericoacoara. If you are keen to get some top-level coaching whilst sailing in some of the most stunning locations known to man, head over to Jem\’s website HERE. The clinic is aimed at those happy in the footstraps and waterstarting who would like to “gybe better, tack, learn to jump and really fly, loop, wave ride and style up their sailing” and starts on November 23rd. If you aren\’t sure, just check out how much fun the crew on the 2011 clinic had!
News from Starboard freestyler Taty Frans now. The Bonaire local and freestyle superstar has been pushing a lot in slalom in the recent years and racking up some good results at the few events that he traded in his kit for slalom gear. For 2012, Taty has managed to secure funding to compete on ALL of the slalom events on the PWA, starting off in Italy in April. All the best luck for Taty – find out more HERE.
French sailor Sarah Hebert was due to start her epic Transatlantic Crossing yesterday but has unfortunately been delayed due to support boat preparations not being completed. The Crossing, which will see Sarah become the first woman to cross the Atlantic by windsurf board, is now scheduled to set off this morning. We wish Sarah the best of luck and be sure to follow her adventures LIVE via GPS on her website.
A really nice video all the way from Guadaloupe now. We aren\’t sure exactly who the riders are but following a boat trip they score some beautiful waves. It is a really nice edit so check it out below!
The AM update wraps up with a quick check on the blogs. Out in Hawaii, Hot Sails Maui\’s very own Chris Freeman reports on his first session back on the water after a couple of months dealing with a knee injury. It certainly doesn\’t seem to be holding Chris back as he launches some nice aerials at Ho\’okipa – Photo by Jimmie Hepp with more HERE. Read Chris\’ full report HERE – and fingers crossed for a full recovery soon.
Brit Freestyler Jamie Drummond has a quick update on his blog from Cape Town with a review of what\’s been going on out in South Africa.
That\’s all for this morning, check back later for the PM update with some great video action…
