Sergey: The first day of competition has seen no wind which is not bad after last night\’s opening ceremony & party. The show wasn\’t over till early morning and then we went home to discover a new flat mate in the kitchen (see photo).
During the day the 39 competitors rigged all their gear ready for battle. Sailors drove to Croatia from all over Europe like Remko de Weerd from the Netherlands and Jakub Kosmowski from Poland whose car was branded with himself & all his sponsors!
In the first heat Egor will be competing against the youngest rider, Mazzocca Vittorio (ITA-I52), at 14 years old. He was 9th at the Tarifa event this year but Egor is full of hope to beat him.
I was less lucky; I\’ve got Michael Rossmeier (AUT-256). He is a serious competitor and also the author of the best-selling book “Tricktionary”. He was 5th in Rhodes and 6th in Switzerland this year so no easy ride for me.
We are all hoping for the wind tomorrow. Wish us good luck and cross your fingers for us!
Sergey and Egor are sponsored by O\’Neil, JP, NeilPryde, Windsurfing Station “Pyat Kvadratov” and the “VneshTorgService” company.
