75K and 75 competitors all signed up for the Lanzarote PWA Gran Slam, combining Freestyle and Slalom (although not together in one discipline, Super X is no more on the agenda). The trade winds of Costa Teguise in Lanzarote will provide some good competition, the third of the slalom tour and the first for freestyle.
Most of the big names are entered, one notable exception is Kauli Seadi from the freestyle! Whether he is a late entrant or not, we will find out tomorrow, but maybe his focus is completely on wave sailing.
Meanwhile in the slalom and after slow starts to the year Bjorn Dunkerbeck and Kevin Pritchard will be looking to make up lost ground, whilst last years newcomers in freestyle – Sarah Quita Offringa and Laure Treboux will be testing the water to see if they can snatch a title from windsurfing queen Daida Rueno Moreno..
Competition starts on Sunday 1st of July…
