Well the weather was beautiful today; sunny & pretty warm for Tiree in October. No official action put plenty of surf at Balephuil including some tow-in surfing courtesy of the event\’s jetbike which was put to very good use! Back at An Talla (the island\’s community hall) the Tiree Table Tennis Tournament (TTTT) resumed with Robby Swift doing rather well against some stiff competition from Ricardo Campello.
But the highlight of the day was the football: England .v. Europe. England won 10-8 with most of the goals being scored by Jamie Hancock and Boardseeker Cameraman Alfie Hart. Matt Pearch didn\’t score any goals as normal and Andy King had tackle of the day against Thomas Traversa nearly taking him out of the football event and the windsurfing competition!
Come the evening and it\’s the Spring Bank Whiskey Tasting night with 8 very fine whiskies available to taste and savour. Pete Currie from the distillery was on hand to tell us about the whiskey making process including the \’event whiskey\’ which has been specially blended for the Corona Extra World Cup – cool!
So that was it – all play and no work for the Pros. We may get some competition tommorow afternoon if the swell arrives together with a moderate southerly wind. If that\’s the case then it\’s off to The Maze.
