For the Scottish windsurfers amongst you, Campbeltown will be a fine retreat for grub & ale after an epic session at near-by Machrihanish. For the rest of you, you probably don\’t have a clue where it is and that, according to the locals, is a very good thing as it leaves the world class surf beach all to themselves! Only joking – they would love some company as they rip down let another mast high set.
Think west coast of Scotland, think the Mull of Kintyre (yes, it is near to Paul McCartney\’s famous house) head to the bottom of the peninsula on the western side and you will find \’The Mach\’ with Campbeltown a few miles away, and it is here that the Breaks Surf Shop has opened.
They stock lots of trendy surf clothes (O\’Shea, Rip Curl, Volcom, Animal, Vans) as well as surfboards and a selection of Pat Love and Amex booms/masts and harness lines ideal after you\’ve trashed your kit at \’The Mach\’.
So if you want a new Scottish windsurfing destination that you don\’t have to get the ferry to then head to Campbeltown and pop into the Break Surf Shop for some local advice and a new pair of shorts!
